Sing Tao: Blunder in School of Law Exam

Brief summary in English:

The Company Law II exam in the JD program of the School of Law contained a crucial factual error, referring to a company called “Sheldon Ltd” as “Orange Ltd”, making the question unanswerable. The examiner, Dr Shen Wei, only alerted students of this mistake 1 1/4 hours into the exam. Some students find that their chances of entering the Postgraduate Certificate in Laws course (PCLL) and of becoming a lawyer have suffered as a result. Student complaints have gone without response from School of Law management. The Dean of the School of Law, Prof Wang Gui Guo, tells Sing Tao that calling “Sheldon Ltd” “Orange Ltd” is a “typo”. He also states that the “typo” would not undermine students’ results or their career prospects.
